Stop in a coffee plantation in the foothills of Poas Volcano and learn about Coffee of Costa Rica; the way our farmers grow it, the way they harvest it, its history and other interesting facts. Later on you will have the chance to savor a delicious cup of our world famous coffee as part of the tour, and see how coffee is brew the Costa Rican way.

Continuing with the tour you will pass in between Poas and Barba Volcanoes, where you can have great views from the distance of these beautiful mountains on clear days. Further ahead stop at the famous “La Paz” Waterfall, where you will be able to take pictures of this natural wonder of our country. A few minutes later you will stop at the San Fernando Waterfall look out point, where you can also take pictures from the distance, as well as admiring the hummingbirds’ gallery and the exotic tropical birds’ feeder. Here you will have the chance to observe many hummingbird species native to Costa Rica, as well as other exotic tropical birds, including the rare “Emerald Toucanets” which are a common sight in this place. Closer to Arenal you will stop in another popular site of our country, the famous “iguana bridge”, where you will admire lots of iguanas at eye level in their natural habitat.

Once in Arenal you will savor a delicious Costa Rica lunch in a restaurant located at the base of Arenal Volcano, from where you will have great views of this impressive mountain on clear days. After lunch, fly over the canopy of the rainforest on a zip lining tour that includes 9 adventure cables and a 50 meter rappel line (150 feet); this part of the tour is done in the pristine rainforests of the Arenal River Canyon. At the end of this adventure you will participate of a short presentation performed by real native people from a nearby tribe called the “Malekus”, where you will learn a little of our Costa Rican Indigenous Culture, their traditions, attire, music and other interesting facts.   

At the end of this full day of adventures and sightseeing, relax at the thermal-mineral waters of Paradise Hot Springs and Gardens for a couple of hours, a gorgeous place at the base of Arenal Volcano where you can recover from your fun-adventurous day. At the end of the day you will have a delicious dinner and then head back to your hotel in the San Jose area.

Important Notes:

*If you don’t wish to do the zip lining tour (which also includes the rappelling and the indigenous presentation), we can replace it for an interesting rainforest walk that includes the largest frog exhibit of Costa Rica with more than 30 species; a large butterfly garden; a turtle’s exhibit; a snake’s exhibit; and a crocodile-caiman exhibit (this request must be done at the time of reservation).

*This is a full day tour, with the advantage is that you will see more on this excursion than any other Tour to Arenal Volcano area.

* On the coffee plantation-stop you will go to see the plants, but you will not be able to go into a coffee processing plant because there is not enough time in order to do the rest of the activities.

* The thermal springs included are man-made pools filled with mineral-thermal water from the volcano (all hot springs in Arenal are man-made pools).
